Your feet are in good hands.

Did you know reflexology can be performed on the hands as well as the feet?

Reflexology is a science and an art that deals with the principle there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs, and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way, as a type of preventative maintenance.

Your reflexology session…what to expect

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Preparations for your appointment are simple, but important to get the most out of your session.

  1. History Form. You will be asked to provide basic contact information along with any acute and chronic illnesses or any surgeries you may have had. This information is not mandatory, but it is helpful for me to know.

  2. No caffeine or alcohol. Please do not consume any before your session if possible.

  3. Water. Be sure to drink plenty of water the rest of the day after your session. This will help the detox process.

  4. Ticklish? Not to worry! I have many people worry as they are ticklish, however once they have a treatment they realize because of the pressure it is not a problem for most.

  5. This is not a beauty contest. Do not worry about what your feet look like! I am here to provide guidance in your health maintenance journey, not judging your feet.

How long is a session?

A typical session lasts one hour. Your first session is usually an hour and a half depending on your specific circumstances.

What will my session be like?

Preparation: Once you’ve completed your history form I will explain how reflexology works and what you may experience during and after your session. You will then be seated in a reflexology chair that adjusts so your legs are positioned over the heart. You need only to take off your shoes and socks (unless having your hands done). I will wash your feet with warm cloths and disinfect with a lemon oil before looking at both feet for any markings such as bruises, scrapes, bunions, open wounds, rashes, sores, and plantar warts.

Reflexology: Your right foot will be wrapped in a warm compress while I work on the left foot until we switch feet. During your session you may rest or talk, there is no right or wrong. If you fall asleep during the session it is fine! Many people do and you will receive the same benefits plus a bit of rest.

Post Session: After I am done working on both feet I will excuse myself to wash my hands and let you rest for a moment before going over any questions you may have. I will remind you to drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine and alcohol for the rest of the day.

I want clients to always know this is a “safe place” for one to relax and feel that they can open up without any judgment and complete respect for your privacy.

How often should I have reflexology done?

Everyone’s treatment plan is unique to them and their needs. We will discuss your specific concerns and develop a treatment plan together to ensure it aligns with your wellness goals.

What does it cost?

It’s hard to put a price on wellness, but in this case, there is no need to break the piggy-bank…a one-hour session of reflexology is $75.00. A great investment in your health!

Please note - if you think someone you know might benefit, gift certificates are available!

Diagram explaining how reflexology is rooted in history.

Rooted in history…

The origins of reflexology date back to ancient Egypt as evidenced by inscriptions found in the physician’s tomb at Saqqara.

The hieroglyphics when translated state:

Don’t hurt me.

…and the practitioner’s reply,

I shall act as you praise me.

In 1913, Dr. William FitzGerald, M.D., rediscovered zone therapy. He found that the pressure on certain reflex points helped corresponding body organs function more normally and also decreased pain. This healing practice now known as reflexology, provides an approach to holistic health that has been adopted by many over the years.

Beyond reflexology…

Disease of the body itself is nothing but the result of the disharmony between soul and mind. Remove the disharmony, and we regain harmony between soul and mind, and the body is once more perfect in all its parts.

Elevate your Toe-DL Wellness with Bach Flower

During the 1930’s, Dr. Edward Bach discovered the Bach Flower Remedies, which provide a safe and natural method of healing and restore the balance between the mind and body by casting out negative emotions such as anxiety, depression, night terrors, grief, and more. The Bach Flower Remedies are made from 38 wild flowers and each is associated with a basic human emotion. They are all safe for the whole family, including pets. Bach Flower is easy to take with a dropper, safe for anyone with allergies, and is gluten free.

In addition to the five already included in the Rescue Remedy, there are 33 other Bach essences that can be added. I can guide you in your selection and there is no extra charge for up to three more essences.
